Parking brakeThe parking brake is located in the drive line on the forward end of the transmission. The braking force is applied with the lever (1) and the cable assembly (2). The arrangement is manually actuated. This is done by pulling upward on the lever (1) .As drive shaft (4) rotates, drum (6) rotates. The brake group (7) and lever assembly (3) are fastened to cage (5). The cage remains stationary.When the parking brake is engaged, lever assembly (3) moves upward, and brake group (7) is actuated. The brake group consists of three retraction springs (9) and of two brake shoes (8). These components are mounted on the plate assembly (10) .When the lever (1) is pulled up, the cable (2) pulls lever assembly (3). When lever assembly (3) is pulled, the lever pulls apart the sections of the plate (10). This causes the brake shoes (8) to press against the drum (6). The drive shaft (4) is prevented from rotating.When the button on lever (1) is pressed and the lever is released, the springs (9) cause the sections of the plate to close.
