2. Disconnect oil supply line (1) from the turbocharger.3. Disconnect water inlet line (2) and water outlet line (3) from the turbocharger. 4. Remove bolt (4) and clamp (5).5. Disconnect water inlet line (2) from the aftercooler and remove it. 6. Remove bolts (6) that hold elbow (7) to the aftercooler cover. Loosen clamp (9) and turn elbow (7) away from the aftercooler cover. Remove elbow (7) and pipe (8) from the turbocharger.7. Fasten a hoist to the turbocharger. 8. Remove bolts (14) that hold the support to the turbocharger. Remove support (11) and coupling (12). Remove the seal rings from the coupling.9. Remove bolts (15) that hold the turbocharger to the exhaust manifold. Remove turbocharger (10) and pipe (13) as a unit. The weight is 60 lb. (27 kg).Install Turbochargers
The left turbocharger is shown.1. Inspect all parts for damage and make replacements if needed. 2. Fasten a hoist to the turbocharger. Put clean oil on the O-ring seals on pipe (1). Put turbocharger (2) and pipe (1) in position in the tube assembly and on the exhaust manifold. 3. Install the seal rings on coupling (3). Install coupling (3) and support (4). Put the gasket in position between the exhaust manifold and turbocharger. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the bolts and nuts that hold the turbocharger and support to the exhaust manifold. Install the bolts and nuts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 41 5 lb.ft. (55 7 N m). 4. Put clean oil on the O-ring seals on pipe (6). Install pipe (6) and elbow (5) in the turbocharger. Put elbow (5) in position against the aftercooler cover. Install the gasket and bolts.5. Tighten clamp (7) to a torque of 10.3 1.11 lb.ft. (14 1.5 N m). Hit the clamp lightly all around and tighten again to 10.3 1.11 lb.ft. (14 1.5 N m). 6. Put the gasket in place and connect oil supply line (9) to the turbocharger.7. Install the gasket and water inlet line (8).8. Install clamp (10).9. Put the gasket in place and connect water outlet line (11) to the turbocharger.10. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
