Caterpillar Electronic Service Tools are designed to help the service technician. Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) is an electronic service tool that is designed to run on a personal computer. ET can obtain data from the engine. ET can diagnose problems within the electronic system.ET can display the following information:

ET software has separate pull-down menus. The menus are used to select screens for the different functions that are available with ET. ET also has a "Help" screen. The pull-down menus are very easy to use. Some of the capabilities are listed below:
Technicians can make accurate repairs quickly.
View events that were logged by the ECM.
View the configuration and change the configuration of the ECM.
Retrieve totals for fuel consumption, mileage, or other applicable data.
View the version and the identification of the ECM.
Diagnostic tests and calibrations can be performed.
Data that is from ET can be viewed in either English values or metric values.Requirements
