Rework Procedure
Note: Ensure that all safety information, warnings, and instructions are read and understood before any operation or any maintenance procedures are performed. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual "Safety Section".
Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary.
Refer to the Operation and Maintenance manual, for your machine, in order to release system pressure.
1. Check the alignment of all hose connections coming to and from the 362-1244 Thermal Bypass Valve. The valve and pipe to the HOC inlet especially need to be checked and adjusted to ensure correct alignment, taking any stress off of the 5P-1293 Hose. The Thermal bypass valve is mounted with slotted holes allowing for its adjustment. If any section of the 5P-1293 Hose has failed in this circuit, the alignment is incorrect.
2. If replacing a failed hose, remove the hose that has failed. Before installing the new section of 5P-1293 Hose, slide 460-5517 Wrap over the pipe first. Install the new section of hose and reconnect the joint.
3. Secure the thermal bypass valve with a lifting device and strap and loosen the valves mounting hardware.
4. When placing pipe, leave the clamp on top loose (1), the bolts on flange loose (2), and bolts on thermal bypass plate loose (3). Then when pipe is placed PERFECTLY, tighten in sequential order (1)-(2)-(3). Refer to Image1.2.1.

5. Once complete and tightened, slide the 460-5517 Wrap completely over the joint and secure with new 7K-1181 Cable Straps. It is advised to push a small hole through the wrap and run your strap through this hole. This will help secure the wrap over the joint and prevent it from moving.
The purpose of the wrap is to help prevent any oil spray in the future incase of failure. Ensure that the wrap completely covers the hose joint and secure it at both sides of the joint to the inlet pipe and steel pipe from the thermal bypass valve. Refer to Image1.3.1.
