Introduction
The following machine check will check the distance between the position switch and the crank for the powered access stairway.Check Preparation
Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from any machines that are working and any personnel.
Move the transmission control to the NEUTRAL position.
Activate the parking brakes. Stop the engine.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Either keep other personnel away from the machine, or keep other personnel in the sight of the operator.
Place wheel chocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.
Make sure that the transmission is in the NEUTRAL position.
Make sure that all air pressure and oil pressure is released before any fittings, hoses, or components are worked on.Check Procedure
Ensure ladder is pinned in the upright position.

Remove cover (1) from behind the stairway. Retain all hardware.

(A) Crank
(B) Sensor
Light on the back of the sensor (B) should turn on once the sensor is triggered by the crank (B).Note: An incorrect distance could result in false stairway down alarms.
If the distance is not correct, adjust sensor (B) accordingly.
Secure the cover (1) to the powered stairway panel.
