The controller automatically places the fan into full pitch if the temperature sensor is disconnected. Purge cycles will continue normally, but the fan will not go into NEUTRAL when the engine is cold. The temperature sensor can be disconnected until the problem is rectified.ECM Controlled System Troubleshooting
Note: For additional information for troubleshooting your ECM controlled system, refer to the electrical schematic for your machine.Diagnostic Codes
When the hydraulic actuated fan is enabled, the ECM will check the diagnostics for the solenoid valve. See Table 4 for diagnostic codes that may be generated.

Diagnostic Codes
Description Code
The “PULL” Solenoid has an open circuit or a short circuit to the + battery. 1599-05
The “PULL” Solenoid has a short circuit to the ground. 1599-06
The “PUSH” Solenoid has an open circuit or a short circuit to the + battery. 1600-05
The “PUSH” Solenoid has a short circuit to the ground. 1600-06 Troubleshooting
Problem 1: Electronic technician shows that the fan blade cooling position is set to PUSH, but the fan is in PULL.
Cause 1: Wires are incorrectly positioned in a connector.Solution 1: Check the positions of the wires and compare the positions to the schematic for the machine.Cause 2: Hydraulic lines are reversed.Solution 2: Make sure that the lines are connected correctly.Problem 2: Electronic Technician shows a fault code of NO SPEED SIGNAL on D9R.
Cause 1: On D9R (S/N: ABK; ACL), the fan speed solenoid is "ON".Solution 1: Turn the fan speed solenoid to "OFF". Make sure that the variable pitch fan is enabled.Problem 3: The fan does not purge at the timed interval. The fan purges when the manual purge switch is pressed.
Cause 1: Purge suspend is enabled.Solution 1: Check the ECM in order to determine if purge suspend is enabled. If purge suspend is enabled, check the timed purge when the machine is in REVERSE.Cause 2: The signal wire is broken from the transmission or from the backup alarm.Solution 2: Check the signal wire for continuity. Check the signal wire for voltage when the transmission is in REVERSE.Cause 3: The ECM failed.Solution 3: Check the ECM with the electronic technician in order to determine if the time until the next purge is decreasing. When time equals zero, the ECM should initiate a purge cycle.Problem 4: The fan purges at the timed interval. The fan does not purge when the manual purge switch is pushed.
Cause 1: The manual purge switch is disabled.Solution 1: Enable the manual purge switch with the electronic technician.Cause 2: The signal wire
