Remove the engine oil cooler.

Disconnect tube assemblies (3).
Disconnect tube assembly (2).
Remove four bolts (1).
Remove bolts (4) and remote oil filter base (5).

Remove four bolts (7) and separate manifold (6) from manifold (8).
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove plug (11). Remove spring (10) and plunger (9).
Illustration 3 g02157869Note: Drain the oil from the filter housing into a suitable container for storage or for disposal.
Disconnect tube assemblies (12).
Remove bolts (13) and remove oil filter base (14).

Use Tooling (A ) to remove filter (19).

Remove plug (18), O-ring (17), spring (16), and plunger (15). Installation Procedure
Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Install the engine oil filter base in the reverse order.
Tighten plug (18) to a torque of 100 15 N m (74 11 lb ft).
Use Tooling (A ) to install filter (19). Tighten filter (19) to a torque of 100 15 N m (74 11 lb ft).
