PROBLEM:
The auxiliary controller used on all B series medium excavators is still being replaced today without having any failure. All the defects have been corrected with the auxiliary controller serial number 13601 and after. The Analysis of the parts is showing that most of the failed controllers returned from the field are working perfectly. However, the field is still consuming a lot of replacement parts.
SOLUTION:
This literature is released to inform, remind, and recommend all the dealers to follow the troubleshooting procedure. Refer to Special Instruction REHS1046 before taking any action against the 122-9897 Auxiliary Controller. Following this procedure will also help the dealer to better troubleshoot the machine in case of any problems in the auxiliary circuit. The TSE code as defined in this Special Instruction REHS1046 will help Cat to better follow the controller quality from the supplier. This TSE code will also be required when claiming in case of trouble.
