The parking brake oil pressure switch is installed in the parking brake control valve. The pressure switch is located on the left side of the front frame.The pressure switch is an input of the Power Train/Chassis Electronic Control Module (ECM). The Power Train/Chassis ECM activates the parking brake alert indicator on the Caterpillar Monitoring System display.When the parking brake is disengaged and the parking brake oil pressure increases above the actuation pressure, the pressure switch will open. The Power Train/Chassis ECM receives a signal from the pressure switch. The Power Train/Chassis ECM then sends a signal to the Caterpillar Monitoring System over the CAT Data Link. The Caterpillar Monitoring System will then turn off the parking brake alert indicator on the Caterpillar Monitoring System display.When the parking brake is engaged or the parking brake oil pressure decreases below the deactuation pressure, the pressure switch will close. The Power Train/Chassis ECM receives a signal from the pressure switch. The Power Train/Chassis ECM then sends a signal to the Caterpillar Monitoring System over the CAT Data Link. The Caterpillar Monitoring System will activate the parking brake alert indicator on the Caterpillar Monitoring System display.
