Inspect seat belt (1) for wear or for damage. Inspect the webbing for wear and for fraying.Check buckle (2) for wear or damage. Check the anticreep slide that is mounted on each half of the seat belt. Replace seat belt (1), buckle (2), or the slides if seat belt (1), buckle (2), and the slides are worn or damaged.

Inspect seat belt mounting hardware (3). If the hardware is damaged or worn, replace the hardware. Keep the mounting bolts tight.Seat Belt Adjustment
The seat belt (1) is equipped with an automatic locking retractor. If seat belt (1) is pulled or if the belt is jerked, the retractor will lock.The seat belt buckle is equipped with a comfort ride sleeve. When seat belt (1) is fastened, the sleeve will limit the operator's movement.Fasten the Seat Belt

Do not allow a companion to ride on the machine unless the companion is seated within the Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) with the seat belt fastened. The companion must have the seat belt fastened while the machine is in operation. Personal injury or death may occur if the companion is not restrained and protected.
Pull seat belt (1) out of the retractor in a continuous motion.Fasten the seat belt catch (4) into buckle (2). Make sure that seat belt (1) is placed across the lap of the operator. Make sure that seat belt (1) is placed across the lap of the person in the companion seat.The retractor will adjust the belt length. Then, the retractor will lock in place. The comfort ride sleeve will provide the operator with limited movement.Release the Seat Belt

Push release button (5) on buckle (2) in order to release the seat belt (1). The seat belt (1) will automatically retract into the retractor.Seat Belt Extension
When using retractable seat belts, do not use seat belt extensions, or personal injury or death can result.
In order to extend a retractable seat belt, Caterpillar recommends using a seat belt that does not retract.Longer seat belts and seat belt extensions are available, when the seat belt is not of sufficient length for the operator.Consult any Caterpillar dealer for information on longer seat belts and on seat belt extension.
