The ECM detects and diagnoses most failures of the reduced rimpull function. However the ECM does not detect a failure with the reduced rimpull ON/OFF switch or the reduced rimpull selection switch.If the reduced rimpull function does not operate correctly, check for related diagnostic codes. Correct any related diagnostic codes. The related diagnostic codes are:
CID 0670 - Torque Converter Pedal Position Switch
CID 0678 - Impeller Clutch Solenoid Valve
CID 0826 - Torque Converter Oil Temperature SensorTest Step 1. CHECK THE ON/OFF SWITCH

Disconnect the switch from the machine harness.
Connect the multimeter to contact 2 and contact 3.
Toggle the switch.
Measure the resistance between contact 2 and contact 3 of the switch.Expected Result:The resistance should be greater than 5000 ohms between contact 2 and contact 3 of the switch in the OFF position. The resistance should be less than 5 ohms between contact 2 and contact 3 of the switch in the ON position.Results:
OK - The resistance should be greater than 5000 ohms between contact 2 and contact 3 of the switch in the OFF position. The resistance should be less than 5 ohms between contact 2 and contact 3 of the switch in the ON position. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - The resistance is not correct. The switch has failed.Repair: Replace the reduced rimpull ON/OFF switch. Stop.Test Step 2. CHECK THE SELECT SWITCH

Place the switch in the B position.
Measure the resistance between contact 1 and contact 2.
Place the switch in the C position.
Measure the resistance between contact 1 and contact 3.
Place the switch in the D position.
Measure the resistance between contact 1 and contact 2. Measure the resistance between contact 1 and contact 3. Expected Result:The measurements agree with table 2.Results:
OK - The measurements agree with table 2. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - The resistance is not correct with one or more of the measurements. The switch has failed.Repair: Replace the reduced rimpull switch. Stop.Test Step 3. CHECK THE GROUND CIRCUIT AT THE SWITCH
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Measure the resistance between contact 1 (wire 202-BK) at the switch and frame ground.Expected Result:The resistance should be less than 5 ohms.Results:
OK - The resistance is less than 5 ohms. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NOT OK - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms. The ground circuit has failed.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine
