(1)Radiator
Always inspect cooling system with engine stopped.Use caution when removing radiator filler cap. Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure. Steam can cause personal injury.
Machine level, bucket lowered with slight down pressure, and parking brake applied. 1. Observe with engine stopped. Remove radiator cap slowly to relieve pressure.2. Maintain coolant level to within 1/2 inch (1 cm) of bottom of fill pipe.3. Inspect filler cap gasket and replace if damaged.(2)Precleaner
Cup-type
1. Inspect visually. Cup should be emptied whenever dirt reaches indicator mark. 2. Loosen wing nut on top of cap and remove cap and cup. 3. Empty cup. Install cup and cap. Periodically wash entire precleaner in water.Multi-tube type
Inspect screen for accumulation of dust and debris. If necessary, remove and clean rain cap and screen. Install rain cap and screen.(3)Engine Crankcase
1. Level can be measured with engine stopped or engine running and oil warm.2. With engine stopped, level should be in SAFE STARTING RANGE on ENGINE STOPPED side of dipstick.3. With engine running, level should be between FULL and ADD marks on ENGINE RUNNING side of dipstick.(4)Fuel Tank
1. Remove fuel tank drain plug and allow water and sediment to drain. Clean and install drain plug.(5)Air Reservoir
1. Open drain valve. Allow condensate to drain. Close drain valve before starting engine.(6)Water Separator
Observe water separator. Drain any water before starting engine.Anytime the water separator becomes one-half full of water, stop the engine and drain the water separator.
When element and inside of water separator become contaminated enough that water level cannot be seen through transparent cover, remove and discard used element assembly. See WATER SEPARATOR under WHEN REQUIRED. 1. Open vent valve (A) and drain valve (B). Allow water to drain. Close drain and vent valve.
