Towing the Knuckleboom Loader and trailer with a skidder can cause equipment damage, personal injury, or death.DO NOT ALLOW PERSONNEL ON OR NEAR THE LOADER WHILE IT IS BEING TOWED. KEEP ALL PERSONNEL AND OTHER MACHINES AT LEAST 200 FEET FROM THE LOADER WHILE IT IS BEING TOWED.The Knuckleboom Loader and trailer is an extremely heavy load. Improper towing of the loader with a skidder can cause grapple failure or brake system failure on the towing machine.Before towing the loader, check the entire route that the loader will be towed on for obstructions, inclines, or other hazards.Towing the loader must be done by experienced personnel on flat surfaces only. Do not attempt to tow the loader up or down hills or inclines. The loader should be towed for short distances only. Long distance towing must be done by an appropriate on-highway truck.When towing the Knuckleboom Loader and trailer, allow extra distance and time for coming to a stop. Do not attempt to stop suddenly unless absolutely necessary. Keep the towing speed to a minimum. Use only enough speed to keep the machine moving.
This machine can be towed short distances by a grapple skidder. This machine can also be towed by an off-highway truck.Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Shipping the Machine" for shipping instructions for long distances.Chock the trailer wheels on both sides of the machine before you connect the trailer to the truck or to the skidder.

Tow Bar
Make sure that tow bar (1) is completely extended away from the trailer. Make sure that the pins (2) are secured in the proper position.
Lower the grapple to the trailer and secure the grapple arms onto the trailer.

If you are using a grapple skidder in order to tow the machine, lift tow bar (1) with the grapple in order to lift the front of the trailer. If you are using an off highway truck for towing, make the proper connection between the trailer and the off highway truck. Make sure that tow bar (1) is not extended. Attach the electrical connections and attach the compressed air lines to the trailer.

Use tie-down points (3) in order to secure the boom to the trailer.
Use lock pins to secure four stabilizers (4) in the upright position.

Secure the delimber to the trailer in order to prevent the delimber from rotating. Use tie-downs that are shown in Illustration 4.

Raise front trailer legs (7) and place the pins in the appropriate holes.
Raise parking block (10) with winch (8) until parking block (10) is secured by hook (9) .
Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position.
Move all of the hydraulic controls in order to relieve any trapped pressure. Place the hydraulic control lever in the LOCKED position.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Lock the doors and access covers and attach any vandalism protection.
To prevent movement during the transport, secure the machine and secure any equipment or tools on the machine with adequate tie-downs.
