Location of the boom kickout valve
Remove the cover from the left pipelayer frame.

(1) Nuts (2) Boom kickout valve (3) Roller (4) Plunger (5) Mounting bracket (A) Dimension
Loosen nuts (1) that fasten mounting bracket (5) to the left pipelayer frame. Valve (2) should be free to move left and right through slotted holes in bracket (5) .
Adjust valve (2) so dimension (A) between roller (3) and plunger (4) is approximately 13.0 cm (5.1 inch).
Tighten nuts (1) .
Start the engine and set the throttle to the LOW IDLE position.
Move the boom control lever to the RAISE position and slowly raise the boom. When the boom is vertical and the crossmember on the boom contacts the plunger, the boom winch motor should stop.
If the boom winch motor does not stop, return the boom control lever to the hold position. Deformation in the boom can occur if the boom is subjected to prolonged force by the boom winch motor.
If the boom winch motor does not stop, lower the boom slightly. Move valve (2) 2 mm (0.08 inch) toward plunger (4). Repeat step 4 through step 7.
