Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 12Aug2008 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
Software Enhancements incorporated with the latest flash file part number listed:
ADVISOR SOFTWARE (284-8894, 312-7756, 317-7378)
- Instrument cluster dimming is now enhanced for tractors equipped with instrument cluster 303-4370.
- The action lamp on the instrument cluster now remains lit for active diagnostic codes and events during snooze.
- The snooze duration is now consistent for all diagnostic codes and events within each warning level.
- The gear, blade mode, and bi-directional shift status is now displayed in the selected language.
- A change to Contrast, Measurement, Night Backlight, and Day Backlight in Settings Menu will no longer be locked in when the "Back Button" is depressed while trying to back out of a change.
- Language translations have been improved for all 24 languages.
- The reversing fan can now be enabled / disabled in the service menu with a service password. This function was previously in ET.
- A fan purge indicator is now displayed at top of Advisor screen when reversing fan actually reverses.
- The engine oil pressure is now displayed during the engine prelube cycle.
- The adjustment of screen contrast is now enhanced to eliminate jumps to 100 percent contrast.
- Low and High system voltage events (E875 and E876) are reduced with correction of debounce time.
- The list of logged events will no longer display E875(2) with zero occurrences.
POWER TRAIN SOFTWARE (319-6147, 325-7769)
- Shifting parameters and strategies are improved to reduce heat generated in the transmission clutches during shifts.
- False data link diagnostic codes during software flash are eliminated.
- Software flash by J1939 is now allowed without uninstalling SEA (software enabled attachments)
- Brake calibration defaults are changed to improve brake modulation.
- E257(3) code for steering without command is now eliminated when tractor is in first gear and under heavy load (torque converter speed ratio is greater than 10:1).
- Erratic data from secondary brake switch, diagnostic code 618-2, is now reduced with increase of debounce time.
- Abnormal data from transmission lever position sensor, diagnostic code 299-8, is now eliminated during fast Key OFF ? Key ON cycles.
- Data issues from steering motor speed sensor, diagnostic codes (CID1469, 1470
