Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the canopy (if equipped). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Canopy - Remove and Install.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Open the left access door and turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Use two people or attach a suitable lifting device to stack assembly (1). Remove the four bolts, the four washers, and stack assembly (1).

Loosen two bolts (3) and open hood assembly (2).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to hood assembly (2). The weight of hood assembly (2) is approximately 75 kg (165 lb).

Disconnect harness assembly (5) from horn assembly (4). Remove harness assembly (5) from hood assembly (2).
Personal injury can result from parts under pressure.Stored energy force will be released when struts are removed.Support covers, hoods, or other components prior to the removal or the installation of struts.

Disconnect the upper portion of gas struts (6) from hood assembly (2).

Remove four bolts (7), the four washers, the plate assembly, and hood assembly (2).

Remove the five bolts, the five washers, and cover assembly (8).

Remove two cable straps (10) and disconnect harness assembly (9).

Remove the six bolts, the six washers, and cover assembly (11).

Remove the two bolts, the two washers, and support plate assembly (12).

Loosen clamp (15).
Loosen clamp (16).
Loosen two clamps (14) and remove muffler (13).Installation Procedure
Install muffler (13) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten two clamps (14) to a torque of 20 3 N m (177 27 lb in).
Tighten clamp (16) to a torque of 35 12 N m (310 106 lb in).
Tighten clamp (15) to a torque of 55 8 N m (487 71 lb in).
