Remove the rocker shaft and pushrods.

Make an identification mark on each rocker arm assembly in order to show the location. Note the mark at position (X) for installation purposes. Note: The components must be reinstalled in the original location. Do not interchange components.
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Use Tooling (A) to remove retaining rings (1).
Remove washers (2), rocker arms (3), brackets (4), and springs (5) from rocker shaft (8).

Remove spring (6) from bracket (4).
Remove plugs (7) from rocker shaft (8)
If necessary, remove nuts (9) and adjusters (10) from the rocker arms. Make a temporary identification mark on each adjuster in order to show the location. Note: The components must be reinstalled in the original location. Do not interchange components.
Remove washer (11). Use Tooling (A) to remove retaining ring (12).
