Start By:a. remove drive wheel Tool (B) is stored in the axle compartment in a bracket that is welded to the hydraulic tank.1. Remove two bolts (2), and turn four adjusting bolts (1) with tool (B) to relieve the drive chain tension. 2. Remove the master link, and remove drive chain (3) from sprocket (4).3. Remove cover (5) from hub (6). 4. Remove cotter pin (8), and loosen nut (7). 5. Use a lift truck and tooling (A) to support hub (6) as shown. Remove nut (7), the washer and bearing (9), then remove hub (6) from the stub axle. The weight of the hub and sprocket is 268 kg (630 lb.). 6. If necessary, remove seal (10) and bearing (11) from hub (6).7. Remove the bolts that fasten sprocket (4) to hub (6). Use two persons to remove the sprocket. The weight of the sprocket is 40 kg (88 lb.). The following steps are for installation of the drive wheel hub assembly.8. Use two persons to position sprocket (4) on hub (6), and install the bolts that fasten them together.9. Install bearing (11) and seal (10) in hub (6).10. Pack the cavity in hub (6) with 5P0960 Multipurpose Grease.11. Use a lift truck and tooling (A) to position hub (6) on the stub shaft. Install bearing (9), the washer and nut (7). Tighten the nut on the stub axle so there is no drag on the bearings and no end play in the hub, then install cotter pin (8).12. Install cover (5) on hub (6).
If it is necessary to replace a drive chain, replace both of the drive chains.
13. Position drive chain (3) on sprocket (4), and install the master link.14. Adjust the drive chain tension. See the Operation And Maintenance Manual.End By:a. install drive wheel
