Left side of the machine, rear compartment (1) Air tank (2) Drain line (3) Drain valve
Open drain valve (3) in order to release the air pressure from air tank (1) .
Remove drain line (2) from drain valve (3). Assemble 6V-3966 Fitting As to the open port for the drain line.
Assemble the following components: 8T-0849 Pressure Gauge, 8T-4188 Union Adapter, 177-7861 Hose As and 6V-4143 Coupler .
Connect the components that were assembled in Step 3 to 6V-3966 Fitting As. .
Point handle (3) toward the letter (R). This will cause the right side of the system to be checked.
Start the engine. Allow the air pressure to reach to the cutout pressure. .Note: Refer to Motor Graders Air System and Brakes, RENR4188, "Governor (Air Compressor)" for the proper cutout pressure.Note: Refer to the, "Air Compressor Governor - Test and Adjust" section of this manual, if it is necessary to change the cutout pressure.
Record the cutout pressure to the nearest 3.0 kPa (0.5 psi).
Shut off the engine.
Begin the timer.
After 150 seconds, take another reading. Record the pressure that is registered on the air pressure gauge.
