A. Vibratory PumpThe vibratory pump is a gear-type pump, mounted to a double-pump drive and driven by the machine engine. The pump provides hydraulic oil pressure to the vibratory system.B. Anti-Lope ValveMounted next to the vibratory pump, the anti-lope valve controls hydraulic oil flow to the vibratory motor. The anti-lope valve contains two check valves, two relief valves, and one solenoid valve, all installed in an aluminum body.C. Vibratory MotorThe vibratory motor is mounted on the left side of the drum, and is coupled to a pair of eccentric weights inside the drum. The motor rotates the eccentric weights rapidly, causing the drum to vibrate.D. Pulse Pick-upThe pulse pick-up is mounted to the drum support assembly near the vibratory motor. It measures vibratory motor speed and sends this information to the vibratory tachometer.E. Vibratory TachometerThe vibratory tachometer is located on the instrument panel next to the operator's seat. It measures drum vibration in vpm (vibrations per minute).F. Return FilterThis filter is located inside the hydraulic oil tank. It cleans return oil from the vibratory system (and the steer system) as the oil enters the tank. The filter has a 10 micron replaceable element, and is equipped with a 172 kPa (25 psi) bypass valve. Filter condition can be monitored with a gauge on the side of the filter.Operation
Vibratory System "Off"
1. Hydraulic oil is drawn from the hydraulic oil tank into the vibratory pump.2. The vibratory pump puts this oil under pressure and routes it to the anti-lope valve.3. Since the vibratory switch (located on the instrument panel) is "off", the solenoid valve in the anti-lope valve is de-energized. Oil passes through the anti-lope valve and is routed back to the hydraulic oil tank.4. Oil is also routed to the vibratory motor, but this oil is blocked at the motor. Not enough pressure is developed to run the motor.5. As return oil enters the hydraulic oil tank, it passes through the return filter. This
