Locate the ECM (4), the conveyor mode switch (1) and the conveyor display mode switch (2) behind the large hinged panel on the left side of the machine.

Place the ECM in the service mode "- 1 -". In order to enter the service mode, press and hold the ECM mode switch in the SCROLL position. Release the switch while the mode number "- 1 -" is shown on the display.
A diagnostic code is shown at this time. The display toggles between showing the CID and the FMI. When there are no diagnostic codes the display will show "- - -" only.

In order to scroll through the diagnostic codes, press and hold the display mode switch in the INCREMENT position. The display momentarily shows the CID for each diagnostic code. The word "END" is shown after the last diagnostic code on the list has been displayed.
In order to place the selected diagnostic code on hold and stop scrolling, release the display mode switch while the diagnostic code is being displayed.
Observe the red indicator on the right side of the display. In diagnostic mode, the red indicator functions as a diagnostic code present indicator. If the red indicator is ON, then the diagnostic code that is on hold is currently active. If the diagnostic code present indicator is Off, then the diagnostic code that is on hold is not active at this time. The diagnostic code has occurred in the past and the machine condition that caused the code is no longer present.
In order to troubleshoot the problem that caused the diagnostic code to become active, refer to the procedure with the same CID and FMI that is listed in the "Diagnostic Code Procedures" section of this manual.
After a diagnostic code has been corrected, clear the diagnostic code. Before clearing the diagnostic code, ensure that all harness connectors have been reconnected and that all wire insulation punctures have been repaired. In order to clear a diagnostic code, hold the display mode switch in the CLEAR/STORE position until "-" appears. After clearing, the display advances to the next available diagnostic code.Note: The ECM will not allow an active diagnostic code to be cleared. The code must no longer be active (red indicator OFF).
Repeat Step 2 through Step 7 for any remaining diagnostic codes. In order to return to the normal mode, press and hold the control mode switch. Release the switch when "- 0 -" is displayed.
