Start By:a. remove drum assembly (front)
Typical Example1. Install tooling (A) under the rear of the machine as shown.
Typical Example2. Remove clamps (1) from both sides of the yoke.3. Remove clamps (2) from both sides of the machine. Move all hydraulic hoses clear of the yoke.4. Remove rear drum scraper. See "Remove & Install Drum Scrapers" in this module.
Typical Example5. Fasten a hoist to the yoke as shown. Remove eight bolts (3) and the shims from behind the mounting plate. Put identification marks on the shims for assembly purposes.6. Remove the yoke from the rear frame of the machine. The weight of the yoke assembly is approximately 817 kg (1800 lb).
Typical Example7. Put the yoke on wood blocks to support it. Fasten a hoist to mounting plate (11). Remove the mounting plate. The weight of the mounting plate is approximately 58 kg (125 lb).
Typical Example8. Check the clearance in bushing (12) with a feeler gauge as shown. The clearance should not be more than .03 to 1.22 mm (.001 to .048 in).
Typical Example9. If necessary, remove bushing (12) from mounting plate (11) with a press. The following steps are for the installation of the yoke.10. If bushing (12) was removed from mounting plate (11), reinstall a new bushing with a press.11. Fasten a hoist to mounting plate (11), and put it in position on the yoke.12. Fasten a hoist to the yoke, and put it in position on the pivot on the rear frame. Install the original amount of shims and eight bolts (3) that hold it.13. Put tooling (C) under the rear of the yoke, and remove the hoist from the yoke.14. Install the drum scraper. See "Remove & Install Drum Scrapers" in this module.15. Put all hydraulic hoses for the front drum assembly in their original position on the yoke, and install clamps (1) and (2) to hold them. After installation of the drum assembly, the clearance between the vertical bushings, vertical pins, horizontal pins and bushings must be checked.
