A 7B-7974 Piston Ring Expander 1 Start By:
Remove the pistons and connecting rods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pistons and Connecting Rods - Remove". Note: Mark the components of each piston and connecting rod assembly. The components must be reinstalled in the original location. Do not interchange components.

Remove pin retainers (1). Remove piston pin (7). Remove piston body assembly (6) from rod assembly (2).
Remove rod bearing (8) from rod assembly (2).
Use Tooling (A) in order to remove piston ring (3), piston ring (4), and piston ring (5) from piston body assembly (6).
