Turn on the system for grade control.

Use the switch for rear elevation. Lower the rear of the machine until the indicator for the service height turns off.
Move the machine to a flat surface in order to calibrate the grade control.
Apply the parking brake.
Start the rotor.
Move the throttle control switch to the HIGH IDLE position.
Use the switch for rear elevation in order to lower the rear of the machine. Lower the rear of the machine until the machine stops and the AUTO STOP light illuminates.

Use the switches for the front elevation. Evenly lower the front of the machine until both of the side plates are 25.4 mm (1 inch) from the surface.Note: Put the sensors for grade control in the desired position before calibration. If the sensors are moved, the sensors will need to be calibrated for the new position.
Raise the side plates to the maximum height.
Lower the front of the machine until the cutter bits for the rotor start to touch the surface.
Lower the side plate so that the side plate is touching the surface.

Quickly press the "CAL" button.

The bar for grade will be illuminated. A zero reading will be displayed.

Push the switch in order to select AUTO.
Set the manual depth gauge that is located on the side plate to ZERO position.
Repeat steps 4 through 17 for the other side.
