Recover the air conditioner refrigerant from the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for the correct procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NEDG5065, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the cooling system is 47 L (12.4 US gal). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".

Remove cover (1). Remove bolts (2) and remove yoke (3) .

Disconnect harness assemblies (4) and hose assemblies (5) from the clips that are located on the back of support (6). Attach Tooling (A) to support (6). Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to support (6), as shown. The weight of support (6) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Remove bolts (7) and remove support.

Disconnect hose assemblies (8), (9), (10) and (15). Disconnect harness assemblies (12) and (11). Remove bolts (13) and position bracket (14) out of the way.

Disconnect clip (16). Disconnect harness assemblies (17) and cable assembly (18). Disconnect hose assemblies (19) and (20). Disconnect cable assembly (21). Disconnect clip (22) .

Remove clip (23) and disconnect cable assembly (24). Attach Tooling (A) to support (25). Attach a suitable lifting device with Tooling (C) to support (25). The weight of support (25) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Remove bolts (26) and remove support (25) .

Disconnect harness assemblies (27). Disconnect clips (28) and (30) that secure harness assemblies (27) to the engine. Disconnect hoses (29), (31) and (32) .

Disconnect hose assemblies (33) and (34). Position bracket (35) out of the way.

Remove clip (36). Disconnect harness assembly (37) from the electrical starting motor.

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to engine (38). The approximate weight of the engine is 1500 kg (3300 lb).

Remove bolts (39). Note the location of shims (40) for installation purposes.
