start by: a) remove torque converter **This operation is in the POWER TRAIN DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY SECTION. The engine is removed for better photo illustration of the flywheel.1. Remove the cover from the flywheel housing for the timing pointer. Remove the timing pointer. 2. Remove seven bolts (1) that hold the flywheel to the crankshaft. 3. Fasten tool (A) to the flywheel. Fasten a hoist to the flywheel. Remove the last bolt (1) from the flywheel. Remove flywheel (2). Weight of the flywheel is 160 lb. (72.6 kg).Install Flywheel
1. Fasten tool (A) to the flywheel. Put flywheel (2) in position on the crankshaft.2. Install a bolt at location (1) to hold the flywheel in position. Remove tool (A). Install the other seven bolts that hold the flywheel in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 280 20 lb. ft. (379.6 27.1 N m).3. Install the timing pointer in the flywheel housing. Install the cover over the timing pointer. 4. Fasten tool (B) to the flywheel housing as shown. Check flywheel alignment (runout) in four positions around the flywheel.
