This procedure should be followed only if a cleanworking environment is available such as the dealership/customer shop.Do not attempt to rework the pump in a dirty work environment. The HEUIpump will fail if debris is in the system or the debris will fail an injector.Notice: Failure to install the "Service Bolt",included in check valve kit, or use vise as described in REHS2422 priorto removing fuel transfer pump mounting bolts WILL CAUSE THE HEUI PUMPTO SEPARATE AND FAIL! Follow Special instructions REHS2422 carefully! RMHS2422 is the translated versionof REHS2422. Illustration 1

Verify that HEUI pump has not already been reworkedby looking for a "CV" stamped on the HEUI pump. (See Illustration 1)
If HEUI pump is stamped "CV"?STOP
Install the 2664455Check Valve Kit using the rework procedure in Special Instruction REHS2422.
The special instructions MUST be followedcompletely or pump failure may occur. Follow each step including propertorque values, sequence and use of the "service bolt".SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
