Problem
The oil filter bypass valve may be forced open during cold start-up on certain 3606, 3608, 3612, and 3616 Engines due to the viscosity of the oil. New oil filter housings, which do not contain a bypass valve, need to be installed to prevent contaminated oil from reaching the clean side of the oil filter and the lubrication system. Former 7W2469 Housings - Oil Filter need to be removed from dealer parts stock.

Action Required
Parts Stock Remove all 7W2469 Housings from dealer parts stock. Affected Product Remove the existing 7W2469 Housings (Oil Filter) and install new 7C7871 Housings.
