Step 1. The burner system switch should be in the OFF position when the key switch is turned ON. If the burner system switch is in the BURNER or SPRAY position at startup, the burner diagnostic lamp will turn ON even though there is no associated diagnostic code active. When this occurs, the ECM will not allow the burners to operate. If this occurs, perform the following steps in order to reset the diagnostic lamp.
Turn the burner system switch to the OFF position.Expected Result:The burner diagnostic lamp should turn OFF.Results:
OK - The burner diagnostic lamp did turn OFF.Repair: The burner system will now operate correctly when the burner switch is moved to the BURNER position. Stop.
