Personal injury or death can result from unexpected motion after the machine is stopped.Always place the transmission control lever in the PARK position in order to engage the parking brake before leaving the machine.
Stop the machine on level ground.

Release accelerator pedal (3). Depress service brake control (pedal) (4).
Move transmission control (2) to the P position. When the transmission control is in the P position, the transmission is in neutral and the parking brake is engaged. Note: When the parking brake is engaged, parking brake indicator (1) will illuminate.
If the machine will remain parked, chock the wheels when appropriate. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Use of Wheel Chocks" for information on the appropriate use of wheel chocks.
