COMPACT WHEEL LOADER,
Compatible equipment models: 3968644:
Information:
Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components. If the engine has been operating at high rpm and/or high loads, run at low idle for at least three minutes to reduce and stabilize internal engine temperature before stopping the engine.Avoiding hot engine shutdowns will maximize turbocharger shaft and bearing life.
In order to allow the engine to cool gradually, operate the engine at low idle for 3 minutes.

Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position (1) in order to stop the engine. If necessary, the SHUTDOWN position (2) will override delayed engine shutdown. The key must be held in this momentary position for the override to take effect. Note: Delayed Engine Shutdown (if enabled) allows the engine to run for a time after the engine start switch is turned to the OFF position to cool the engine and the machine system components. When the engine start switch is moved to the OFF position after machine operation, the delayed engine shutdown will automatically activate. The engine start switch key may be removed during delayed engine shutdown. At any time during a delayed engine shutdown, the engine start switch may be turned to the ON position. Delayed engine shutdown enable/disable and delayed engine shutdown delay time can be programmed through ET.Note: Engine Idle Shutdown (if enabled) allows the engine to shut down after the operator is not operating the machine for a specified time. EIS can be enabled/disabled and EIS delay time can be set through the Advisor system or Cat ET. Engine Idle Shutdown may be required for local regulations. For more information on the engine start switch, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls".
Never turn the battery disconnect switch key to OFF with the engine running. Electrical system damage could result.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Remove the disconnect key, and secure the lock on the cover plate.
If the machine will remain parked, chock the wheels when appropriate. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Use of Wheel Chocks" for information on the appropriate use of wheel chocks.
