Install a 138-7575 Link Bracket (11) and a suitable lifting device (12) in order to support the end bracket (7). Refer to Illustration 6. The end bracket weights approximately 100 kg (220 lb). Note: The weight of the end bracket must be supported by the lifting device before the following step is done.

Remove the remaining mounting bolts (4) that assemble the end bracket (7) to the main stator housing (6).
Install a 6V-7729 Bolt (15) in the end of the main rotor shaft (16). Refer to Illustration 7.

Use a suitable pry bar (17) in order to break the end bracket (7) loose. Refer to Illustration 7. Note: Move the pry bar to different locations while attempting to break the end bracket loose from the generator.
Remove the spring washer (18) from the end bracket.

Note: If a single bearing generator is equipped with a PMG, then the PMG exciter stator must be removed before the front support of the generator rotor is removed. That is, the PMG exciter stator must be removed before the rotor is allowed to rest on the plastic strips that are placed between the main rotor and the main stator. The air gap clearance on the PMG components is not sufficient in order to prevent the rotor shaft damage.
The "Start By" list of items that are written at the beginning of this section must be done before the end bracket is removed. In most cases, the terminal box must be removed. Some of the components may be accessed by removing the terminal box access panels.
