If both of the GPS receivers in a a dual GPS system are the same model, then the receivers must both run the same version of firmware. If the receivers have mismatched versions of firmware, the AccuGrade system will not operate. This requirement for the firmware ensures reliable, consistent performance of the GPS receivers.If the firmware is mismatched on the same model of GPS receiver, the "Diagnostics" dialog for the GPS receivers will display "FW Not Matched" as shown in Illustration 1. The "FW Not Matched" message is displayed on the CD700 displays only.

Resolution
Use the "Diagnostics" dialog in order to view the firmware versions of the two GPS receivers. Make a note of the most recent version. The download is a self-extracting ".zip" file that contains all of the current production firmware for AccuGrade 3D version 10.7 for Motor Graders, Track-Type Tractors, and Excavators.Once the firmware is extracted, the firmware is broken into four main folders that contain sub-folders in order to help clarify the use of the different file types. The files for the MS980 and MS990 receivers will be saved in the "Sensor" folder.
