Sudden movement of the machine or release of air or oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible personal injury, do the procedure that follows before servicing the air system and brakes.
1. Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from working machines and personnel.2. Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all personnel either away from the machine or in view of the operator.3. Activate the secondary brake and parking brake. Lower the bucket to the ground. Put wood block in front of and behind the wheels. Stop the engine.4. Continuously push on the brake pedal until there is no more brake air pressure. When the pressure has been removed from the air circuit, there will be no pressure in the hydraulic circuit.5. Be sure all air pressure is released before any fitting, hose or component is loosened, tightened, removed or adjusted. Before any operational checks are made, open the drain valve to release any water in the air reservoir. Water lowers the capacity in the reservoir and can cause the air compressor to run constantly. Close the drain valve. 6. Remove the side cover from the machine to gain access to the hoses and wire connected to the air dryer.7. Disconnect two hose assemblies (2) and wire (1) from the bottom of the air dryer. 8. Open the access door located above the air dryer.9. Disconnect two hose assemblies (3) from the air dryer.10. Remove four nuts (4) and the washers that hold the air dryer in position. Remove air dryer (5) from the machine.11. For the disassembly and assembly of the air dryer, see the "Air Dryer Service Manual", Form No. SENR2065-01. Install the air dryer in the reverse order of removal.
