Visual Checks
With the apron and bowl lowered and the ejector forward, perform the following inspections.1. Check the oil level in the hydraulic oil supply tank. Slowly loosen the filler cap and allow tank pressure to bleed off before removing the cap.2. Inspect all external oil lines, connections, cylinders and valves for leaks or damage.3. Remove the filter elements and check for the presence of foreign material. A magnet will separate ferrous metal material from non-ferrous metal and non-metallic sealing material (piston rings, O-ring seals, etc.). If such contaminants are found, the damaged component must be located and repaired. The entire hydraulic system should then be drained and flushed.Scraper Operational Checks
If the speeds of the bowl, apron and ejector circuits approximate the speeds given, the scraper pump is probably within specifications.Another check is to bottom the cylinders in each circuit in both directions, obtaining the relief valve pressure setting. (Refer to Main Pressure Relief Valve.) While performing this test check for leakage in the circuit being tested.Checking Pump Efficiency
For any pump test, the pump flow (gpm) at 100 psi (7,0 kg/cm2) will be larger than the pump flow (gpm) at 1000 psi (70,3 kg/cm2).*Numbers in examples are for illustration and are not values for any specific pump or pump condition. See SPECIFICATIONS for pump flow of a new pump at 100 psi and 1000 psi.Example of finding percent of flow loss ...If the percent of flow loss is more than 10%, pump performance is not good enough.Test On The Machine
Install a 9S2000 Flow Meter. Measure pump flow at 100 psi (7,0 kg/cm2) and at 1000 psi (70,3 kg/cm2) with engine at full load rpm.as Formula I,Test On The Bench
With a pump shaft rotation of 1200 rpm, measure pump flow at 100 psi (7,0 kg/cm2) and at 1000 psi (70,3 kg/cm2).as Formula II,See SPECIFICATIONS for pump flow at 100 psi at 1780 rpm. The differences in the rpms in Formula II are needed because it is not possible in many tests to operate the test bench at 1000 psi at a high rpm.Speed Tests
Make all tests with oil at normal operating temperature and, unless otherwise specified, the tractor engine speed at high idle.Bowl Lift Travel Time
Lower the scraper bowl to the ground and raise the apron. The time to raise bowl from ground to maximum height with bowl empty and apron raised is 2.5 to 3.5 seconds.Apron Lift Travel Time
Lower the scraper bowl to the ground and lower the apron. The time to raise apron from lowered to maximum height is 2.5 to 3.5 seconds.Ejector Travel Time
Operate the ejector through several full EJECT and RETURN (override) cycles then position the ejector at the rear of the scraper bowl. The time to move ejector from rear to forward position is 4.0 to 5.5 seconds. The time to move ejector from forward to rear position RETURN (override) is 4.0 to 5.5 seconds. The time required to return ejector in the detented RETURN (flow control) position is 8 to 18 seconds.Drift Tests
