5N-9224     Exhaust Elbow    The turbocharger on the marine engines that are listed above can be connected to an aftermarket exhaust elbow. If the aftermarket elbow and gasket assembly experiences an exhaust leak, do not submit a claim for a failed aftermarket gasket against a Cat part number. Only submit claims against the 255-6863 Gasket if your engine uses the Cat exhaust elbows that are listed in Table 1.In order to ensure that the assembly is free of leaks, tighten the exhaust elbow to the turbocharger first. Then assemble the remainder of the exhaust piping. Tighten the four bolts by the use of a crisscross pattern. Some designs may require supporting the exhaust elbow with proper support stands and fixturing.
