Install seal ring (23) onto balance piston (21) .

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Use Tooling (C) in order to compress balance piston (21) .
Install screws (22). Tighten screws (22) to a torque of 28 7 N m (21 5 lb ft).
Remove Tooling (C) .

Install plates and discs (20) .Note: Lubricate the plates and discs lightly with the fluid that is being sealed.

Install hub (19). Install thrust disc (18), plate (17), and retaining ring (16) .

Install O-ring seal (15) and seal ring (14). Install bearing (13) .

Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press in order to compress retainer (8) and spring (9). Install retaining ring (10) .

Install hub (5). Install retaining ring (4). Install plates and discs (6) .Note: Apply a thin coat of transmission oil onto the plates and discs prior to assembly.

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to remove rotating clutch (1). The weight of rotating clutch (1) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).End By: Install the retarder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Retarder - Install".
