A FT-2674 Vacuum Cap 1 Start By:
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release". Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Install Tooling (A) on the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply hose onto Tooling (A). Apply 276 414 kPa (40 60 psi). This procedure will pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system.

Remove bolts (2) and platform (1).

Remove bolts (3) and (4). Remove panel (5).

Remove bolts (6). Remove bolts (8) and remove panel (7).

Disconnect eight hose assemblies (9). Remove bolts (11) and pressure reducing valve (10).
