PLATE AS 4760477 - Caterpillar

1. Remove bracket (1) for the alternator. 2. Remove bolt (2) from the heater hose clip.3. Disconnect wire (3) from the sensor unit.4. Remove the three bolts (5) and remove elbow (4). 5. Remove the bolt from clip (6).6. Remove the three nuts (7) and three bolts (8) and remove timing gear cover (9) and the gasket.
Do not cause damage to the crankshaft front seal when the timing gear cover is removed.
Install Timing Gear Cover
1. Put clean engine oil on the crankshaft front wear sleeve and the crankshaft front seal.2. Install tool (A) in the crankshaft front seal.3. Put the gasket and timing gear cover (2) in position and install the three bolts and three nuts to hold it.4. Cut the timing gear cover gasket even with the bottom of timing gear cover.5. Install the bolt in clip (1) to hold it to timing gear cover (2). 6. Make a replacement of the O-ring seal and gasket for elbow (4) if needed.7. Put elbow (4) in position and tighten the three bolts that hold it.8. Install the bolt in the clip that holds heater hoses (3) to the engine.9. Connect the wire to sensor unit (5).10. Install the alternator bracket.
