The piston motors (propel) are located on the rear of the final drive planetaries.

Note: There are two identical propel motors on the machine. One motor is for the right propel and one motor is for the left propel. Perform this test on both of the propel motors. The left propel motor will be tested in this procedure.

Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Disconnect return line (5) from cooler bypass valve (1) at connector (4) .
Connect return line (5) to 6V-7788 Flow Meter Gp (A1) .
Assemble one end of 122-6891 Hose (A2) to the end of 6V-7788 Flow Meter Gp (A1) .
Assemble the other end of 122-6891 Hose (A2) to port "C" (2) .

Ensure that all of the connections are secure.Note: This test will not require the use of an assistant. Ensure that the flow meter is fixed to the machine. The flow meter should be mounted above the engine compartment. The flow meter should always be in clear view of the operator.

Ensure that the parking brake control is in the DISENGAGED position. Ensure the propel lever is in the NEUTRAL position.
Start the engine. Place throttle control switch (6) in high idle position (7) .
Place speed control switch (9) in "PAVE" mode (8) .
Turn speed dial potentiometer (10) clockwise to the maximum position.
Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.
Ensure that the machine is in an open area. Ensure that the machine is clear of all personnel and equipment.
Slowly move propel lever (11) to the full FORWARD position. The propel pump will be at full stroke as the machine propels forward. Hydraulic oil flow to the propel motor is at the maximum flow rate.
In the FORWARD position, flow meter (A1) should read 11
