Start By:
Remove the water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Pump - Remove".Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.

Remove bolts (4) .
Remove crankshaft pulley (3) .
Remove bolts (1) .
Remove front cover (2) and gasket (5) .

Remove bolts (6) .
Remove cover (7) .

Use Tooling (C) in order to rotate the crankshaft until Tooling (A) can be installed into the camshaft gear, as shown.
Install Tooling (B) into the crankshaft, as shown.

Loosen bolt (8) .
Position collar (9) so that bolt (8) will not tighten against collar (9). Tighten bolt (8) to 23 N m (17 lb ft).Note: This will hold the shaft for the injection pump in place.

Remove nut (10) and washer (11) .

Install Tooling (D) .
Remove fuel injection pump gear (12) .
Remove Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) .

Remove nut (13) .
Remove bolt (14) .
Remove bolts (15) .
Loosen nut (16) .
Place throttle cables (17) aside.

Disconnect fuel lines (18) .
Disconnect harness assembly (21) .
Remove bolt (20) .
Place fuel lines (18) aside.
Remove tube assembly (19) .

Remove bolt (22) .
Disconnect wire assembly (24) .
Disconnect fuel injection lines (23) .

Remove bolts (25) .
Remove cover (26) .
Remove bolts (28) .
Place hose (27) aside.
