Remove the flywheel housing.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (9) and thrust plate (10). Remove cluster idler gear (3).
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to remove sleeve bearing (11) from cluster idler gear (3).
Remove bolts (8) and remove camshaft idler gear (1). Remove idler shaft (7) and thrust washer (2).
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to remove sleeve bearing (6) from camshaft idler gear (1).
Remove bolts (4). Remove cluster gear shaft (5).
Remove bolts (12). Remove crankshaft gear (13). Installation Procedure

Install crankshaft gear (13) and bolts (12).
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to install sleeve bearing (6) to a depth of 1.00 0.25 mm (0.039 0.010 inch) in camshaft idler gear (1). Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to install sleeve bearing (11) to a depth of 1.50 0.50 mm (0.059 0.020 inch) in cluster idler gear (3). Note: Sleeve bearing (6) and sleeve bearing (11) must be machined to the correct inside diameter. Refer to Special Instructions, SEHS9282, "Machining of Replacement Sleeve Bearings".
Apply clean engine oil to sleeve bearing (6) and idler shaft (7). Install idler shaft (7) in camshaft idler gear (1). Position camshaft idler gear (1) and thrust washer (2) and install bolts (8). Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 240 20 N m (177 15 lb ft).
Position cluster gear shaft (5) and install bolts (4). Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 140 10 N m (103 7 lb ft).

Apply clean engine oil on sleeve bearing (11) and cluster gear shaft (5). Install cluster idler gear (3) on the cluster gear shaft. Make sure that the marks on cluster idler gear (3) and crankshaft gear (13) are in alignment with the rotation of the engine. Install thrust plate (10) and bolts (9). End By:
