Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Release the pressure in the implement hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines and on all hoses for installation purposes. Plug all lines and all hoses. This will help to prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.Note: The implement pump and the fan pump may be removed together as an assembly.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank into a suitable container. The tank capacity is 125 L (33 US gal).

Disconnect tube assembly (1) and two hose assemblies (2) .

Attach a suitable lifting strap and a hoist to the pump. Remove two nuts (5) and the washers. Remove the pumps. The combined weight of the pumps is 57 kg (126 lb).

Remove two bolts (6). Separate the two pumps. Remove coupling (7). The weight of the fan pump is 12 kg (26 lb). The weight of the implement pump is 45 kg (100 lb).
