Removal Procedure

In order to access the electric starting motor, open the right hand engine doors (1) .

Loosen the two hose clamps (2). Remove the retaining clips (3) and the two fumes disposal tubes (4) from the right side of the engine.

Identify the wires and the cable assemblies (5) to the terminals on the electric starting motor.

Fasten a lifting device (not shown) to the electric starting motor (7) for removal. Remove the three bolts (6) that hold the electric starting motor (9) to the flywheel housing. Remove the electric starting motor and gasket (8) (not shown). The approximate weight of the electric starting motor (7) is 35 kg (77 lb).Installation Procedure

Install a new gasket (8) (not shown) on the electric starting motor (7). Fasten a lifting device (not shown) to the electric starting motor (7) for installation. Position the electric starting motor (7) to the flywheel housing. Install the three bolts (6) that hold the electric starting motor (7) to the flywheel housing.

Connect the wires and the cable assemblies (5) to the electric starting motor. Tighten the wire connections to the following torque 2.25 .25 N m (20 2 lb in). Tighten the cable assemblies to the following torque 30.5 3.5 N m (22 3 lb ft).

Replace the two fumes disposal tubes (4) on the right side of the engine. Install the clips (3) and tighten the two hose clamps (2) .

Close the engine access doors (1) for the right side of the engine.
