The 1428724 Spindles,which are part of the 1428758 Axle Group, may not achieve acceptable fieldservice life due to improper heat treatment. The failure mode is likelyto be a fracture of the spindle resulting in potential loss of a wheeland consequent loss of steering. New axles need to be installed on theproducts listed below. You will not be charged for the service performed.Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediatelyto schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time requiredto complete this service.
