3. Remove bolts (2). Remove auxiliary drive pulley (1). 4. Remove two bolts (3) from the vibration damper and install two 5/8"-18 NF guide pins (4) 5" long in their place.5. Remove the remainder of the bolts and remove vibration damper (5). 6. Remove adapter (6).Install Vibration Damper
1. Install two 5/8"-18 NF guide pins (2) 180° apart in the end of the crankshaft.2. Put adapter (1) in position on the crankshaft. 3. Put vibration damper (3) in position on the adapter. Put SAE 30 oil on the threads of the bolts that hold the vibration damper. Install four of the bolts. Remove the guide pins and install the other two bolts. 4. Install auxiliary drive pulley (4) on the vibration damper.5. Install the vee belts on the pulley and the fan belt tightener.6. Install vee belt on the alternator. Tighten the nut on the rod until the vee belt tension for a new belt is 120 5 on a Borroughs Gauge No. BT-33-72C. The correct tension for a used belt is 90 5. Tighten the locknut on the rod to a torque of 110 15 lb.ft. (150 20 N m).
