Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, and on all harness assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Install spacers (10). Note: Position the spacer (10) with the beveled side toward the machine.

Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) to undercarriage (7). The weight of undercarriage (7) is approximately 440 kg (970 lb).
Install undercarriage (7). Install plate (9). Install bolts (6) and bolts (8).

Install hose assemblies (5).
Install cable strap (3) and connect harness assembly (4).
Install hose assemblies (2).
Install the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Remove and Install Track".
Lower the loader arms and remove the lift arm brace for the loader lift arm. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Loader Lift Arm Brace Operation".
