Stay clear of all rotating and moving parts.Never attempt adjustments while the machine is moving or the engine is running unless otherwise specified.The machine must be parked on a level surface and the engine stopped.Attach a "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the start switch and controls before servicing, repairing, or making adjustments to the machine.
Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine.
Note: The machine must be driven during the following test. Ensure that the test area is free of personnel and obstructions.
Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propel lever (3) to the NEUTRAL position.
Rotate speed dial (2) to the MINIMUM position.
Move parking brake switch (1) to the ON position.

Move lift switch (4) for the screed to the RAISE position. Completely lift the screed.

Engage mechanism (5) for the lock for the screed on both sides of the machine.
Move lift switch (4) for the screed to the FLOAT position. Allow the tow arms to rest on screed locks (5) .Note: The lift switch for the screed on the inactive instrument panel must also be in the FLOAT position in order to lower the screed.
Move lift switch (4) for the screed to the HOLD position.
Rotate speed dial (2) to the center position.
Move parking brake switch (1) to the OFF position.Note: The parking brake switch on the inactive instrument panel must also be in the OFF position.

Move throttle control switch (7) to the HIGH IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second.
Move switch (6) for the propel mode to the PAVE position.
Move propel lever (3) to the FORWARD position. Monitor the machine speed on the operator display.
Move propel lever (3) to the NEUTRAL position.
Move switch (6) for the propel mode from the PAVE position to the TRAVEL position.
Move propel lever (3) to the FORWARD position. Monitor the machine speed on the operator display. Machine speed should increase significantly beyond the speed that was observed in Step 13.
Move propel lever (3) to the NEUTRAL position.
Move switch (6) for the propel mode to the PAVE position.
Move throttle control switch (7) to the LOW IDLE position.
Move engine start switch (8) to the OFF position.
As previously described, in Step 16, the shift solenoid or the wiring is faulty If the machine does not change speed.
