The engine serial number plate is located on the left side of the cylinder block to the rear of the front engine mounting.Cat dealers need all of these numbers in order to determine the components that were included with the engine. The generator identification plate is located on the top of the barrel of the generator.When service is required, the information that is given on this plate should be used. The generator identification and information plate includes the following information: serial number, model number and the rating of the generator set. The generator set consists of the engine and the generator.
