procedure must be performed to operate the engine back inside the regulatory areas of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)/International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Turn the AC and DC breakers to the OFF position.
Remove the plate covering the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) injector mounting port and install the DEF injector.
Install NOx sensors in the exhaust piping. Plug the NOx sensors into the wiring harness. Refer to REHS8151 for proper NOx sensor handling procedures.
Use the DEF line from the 464-1955 Tool Case As. Connect the DEF line to the DEF dosing cabinet and route the DEF line into a suitable container.
Turn the AC and DC breaker to the ON position.
Use Cat® Electronic Technician (ET) to perform the following procedure:A. Use the "Aftertreatment #1 DEF Return Valve Override" to close the DEF return valve.B. Use the "Aftertreatment #1 DEF Pump Drive Command" to override the DEF pump to 100 percent.C. Allow all the water left in the DEF dosing cabinet tank to flow into a suitable container.
Stop the test once the DEF tank level has reached 0 percent. This test will remove all the water from the tank and allow for the tank to fill with DEF.
Remove the cap from the air supply line at the DEF injector.
Connect the DEF line and the air supply line at the DEF injector.
Connect the DEF supply line from the customer supplied DEF tank to the DEF dosing cabinet.
Connect the DEF supply line from the DEF dosing cabinet to the DEF injector.
Install the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) catalysts if the SCR catalysts were removed from the exhaust system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "SCR Catalyst Installation" for additional information.
Turn the shutoff valve for the customer DEF supply to the dosing cabinet to the ON position.
Use the "Aftertreatment System Enable Status" feature in Cat ET to turn the aftertreatment system to the "Enabled" state. Factory passwords are required.
Perform an "Aftertreatment SCR System Verification Test" to verify that all the connections are correct and the system is functioning properly. If fault codes come active during this test, refer to the troubleshooting guide for additional information. The engine is now prepared to run inside the EPA/IMO regulatory areas.
